MBK Tape Solutions employee and recent graduate of CSUN, Madison Camp, coordinated with the Deaf Studies Department to distribute MBK face shields to the Deaf Community in the Los Angeles area.

Non-Manual Signs (NMS), such as facial expressions and eyebrow movements, are integral parts of communication within American Sign Language that is hindered with the typical face mask most people are wearing. As a result, many Deaf individuals have been forced to prioritize protection over clear communication, which no one should be forced to choose between. With these face shields, both are possible; ensuring clear and direct communication is possible while simultaneously protecting the person wearing it from the Coronavirus.

Many thanks to Rachel and Flavia at the Deaf Studies Department for distributing the face shields. Special recognition to Madison for her efforts in helping serve the needs of the deaf community. We are also grateful to the MBK employees, who work hard everyday to produce and assemble the face shields and other safety products that keep us all safe and healthy.
